WHAT IS TOASTMASTERS?

Toastmasters International is a world wide organization whose purpose is to empower people to achieve their full potential and realize their dreams. HOW DO I KNOW IF TOASTMASTERS IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Try it on for size by visiting our club! You are invited to any of our club meetings (return guests are welcome too!) to see for yourself how Toastmasters can help you. Our meetings are energetic, fun and educational.

WHAT DOES YOUR CLUB DO AT MEETINGS?

Mostly, have fun. Our members create a supportive and encouraging environment to help each other get over a fear of public speaking and excel in communication and leadership. There are a variety of speaking opportunities at every meeting. Some people give prepared speeches others impromptu speeches. Everyone is encouraged to listen and provide constructive feedback.

WHEN DOES THE LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB MEET?

We meet most every Monday, except Holidays (for example, Memorial Day & Labor Day), from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. (Please arrive 15 minutes early.)

WHERE DOES THE LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB MEET?


We meet at the Otak Office Building in Lake Oswego.

Otak's address is 17355 SW Boones Ferry Road, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Use the South Entrance of the building (other doors maybe locked).



CAN I GET DIRECTIONS TO THE OTAK OFFICE BUILDING?

OTAK is conveniently located off I-5 and Boones Ferry Road.

Quick Directions: From I-5 take Exit 290 (Lake Oswego/Durham Exit). If you take 1-5 North to Exit 290 take a right at the first traffic light onto Lower Boones Ferry Road. If you take I-5 South to Exit 290 take a left at the first traffic light onto Lower Boones Ferry Road. Take Lower Boones Ferry Road approximately 1/2 a mile. Otak office building is located on the left side of the street. Otak office Building is between the Les Schwab Tire Store and a Starbucks Coffee Shop. If you pass Les Schwab Tires you have gone too far.

HOW OLD IS THE LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB?

In 2002 the Lake Oswego Toastmasters Club celebrated its 50th Birthday! The Lake Oswego Toastmasters Club is one of the oldest Toastmasters International clubs in the Pacific Northwest.

WHO'S A MEMBER OF THE LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB?

Anyone interested in improving their communication and leadership skills and willing to encourage others is welcome to join our club! Over the years our club members have represented a range of experiences, including, health care providers, teachers, professional speakers, business professionals, life coaches, administrative assistants, lawyers, computer programmers, homemakers, editors, engineers, a retired professional football player, financial planners, clergy and individuals between jobs.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN THE LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB?

If you want to become a better speaker, listener and leader we offer a supportive environment to practice in and constructive feedback for improving. Plus, it is a FUN and EDUCATIONAL way to spend a Monday evening!

HOW DO I JOIN THE LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB?

Becoming a member is simple and easy. Just let one of our club officers know you are ready to commit to improving your communication and leadership skills. There is a short form to fill out and dues to pay. By joining our club you also join Toastmasters International. Within 2 weeks of your registration you receive your Toastmaster International Education Program material in the mail.

HOW MUCH ARE LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB DUES?

Joining our club is inexpensive. Dues are about $30 dollars and are collected twice a year.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BECOMING A LAKE OSWEGO TOASTMASTERS CLUB MEMBER?

From Toastmasters International you will receive your Toastmasters Communication and Leadership Manual and a subscription to the monthly Toastmaster International Magazine. In our club you will be able to accept prepared speaking roles, meeting roles and you will receive our club email updates.
