The
Lake Oswego Toastmasters Club
is one of the oldest, largest and most decorated Toastmaster International Clubs in Oregon.
The success of the Lake Oswego Toastmasters Club (LOTC) is attributed to:
I. LOTC Enthusiasm
II. LOTC Members keeping "A Toastmaster's Promise"
III. LOTC Executive Committee
More details about each of theses components is provided below.
I. LOTC Enthusiasm
The Mission of the Lake Oswego Toastmaster Club is "To create a supportive environment for members to improve their communication and leadership skills". Enthusiasm for learning and helping others learn is an integral component of this Mission. The Lake Oswego Toastmasters Club considers enthusiasm to be a large part of successful communication and leadership. We recognize our club's most enthusiastic member at each week's meeting with an award: "Most Enthusiastic".
II. A Toastmaster's Promise
In order to join LOTC each applicant must agree to abide by the principles contained in "A Toastmaster's Promise" (developed by Toastmasters International). The commitment of each LOTC member to this Promise ensures that the Lake Oswego Toastmaster Club meets its club mission "To create a supportive environment for members to improve their communication and leadership skills".
A TOASTMASTER'S PROMISE:
As a member of Toastmasters International and my club, I promise...
1. To attend club meetings regularly
2. To prepare all of my speeches to the best of my ability, basing them on projects in the Communication and Leadership Program Manual or the Advanced Communication and Leadership Program manuals

4. To provide fellow members with helpful, constructive evaluations

9. To adhere to the guidelines and rules for all Toastmasters educational and recognition programs
10. To maintain honest and highly ethical standards and refrain from any form of discrimination, harassment, derogatory, illegal, or unethical conduct during the conduct of all Toastmasters activities
